Disclaimer: Yes, I drank the GitHub Koolaid. After spending 18 months as an active mentor/maintainer on several of Exercism.io's tracks, I stopped participating as part of a job switch. With me is an experience report of what worked for me with this platform, a claim that a platform with better git (or other vcs) integration would prepare people better for real-world programming, and a call-to-action to try out GitHub's Classroom. A goal could be the formation of a learning collective, or simply a status report.
