Volunteer Kitchen Team

Description

Our team is responsible for feeding the volunteers during build up and tear down.

We prepare breakfast, lunch, afternoon cake and dinner. We do the shopping, cooking and cleaning afterwards.

If you like cooking or baking, or you would like to get better at it - come help us out! We need help with everything from just making coffee, tea and lemonade, cutting vegetables, cleaning dishes, baking cookies to preparing fancy Michelin guide worthy food for all of us. We need about 5 team members to be able to make nice food and not get stressed out doing it. If you're interested, drop by in our signal or DM Pascal.

This year, we'd like to try to work in two overlapping shifts, one for breakfast and lunch, one for lunch, cake and dinner. Everyone is, of course, free to help whenever, but let's not burn ourselves out. It may look a little like this:

  • Our early risers will take care of turning our overnight dough into breakfast buns and all the other breakfast prep and breakdown.
  • After feeding our dinner team breakfast, we'll have a quick meeting to discuss lunch and dinner for the day and divide up the tasks for the day. We'll take a break, do some shopping and take care of lunch and cake prep together.
  • The afternoon crew takes care of the rest of the day. Making cake, cookies and dinner.

All of us help with cleaning up as we go and after each meal and we usually find some volunteers to help with the dishes.

We do all of this in the camp kitchen, which has a professional oven and larger pots and pans than you'll ever use at home. Come join us, or if you're unsure if you'd like it - ask Pascal in the slack channels or just come see us during buildup or camp.
