The Technologies needed to get to Climate Neutrality Feedback

Renewable energy sources like wind and solar and the electrification of processes previously operated by fossil fuels can tackle the bulk of greenhouse gas emissions produced today. However, there are processes where directly replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy is either very difficult or impossible. Industrial processes like steel, cement, or chemicals often cause emissions due to the chemistry within the processes.

Hydrogen, Carbon Capture and Storage, or Carbon Capture and Utilization can provide solutions for these difficult sectors. Yet, these solutions are still in the early stages of development and come with substantial challenges.

The talk will discuss examples of processes where emission reduction is hard and which technologies might help to tackle them.
