Dænsk: The Danish language, improved
Feedback
In this presentation I will show you how I have used outdated technologies to improve the Danish written language. No prior understanding of the language is required.
The Danish language is notorious for having many vowel sounds and a big gap between the spoken and written language. My improved version of Danish does not address these two points, but instead focuses on solving less important problems, such as:
- Why are there so many letters in the alphabet (3 more than the English alphabet)?
- What would be an efficient character encoding for supporting Danish only?
- How can we make a version of Danish that is unambiguous when parsed by programming paradigms from the 1980's?
This talk will cover both the computer science aspects of the above and the European Union politics needed to carry a project of this size through.
