A deeper understanding of linux kernel would help sysadmins to debug issues, tune systems and provide better root cause analysis. This talk would provide insights on investigative methods and tools, that can be used by Linux Admins to understand a bit more about the systems they manage.
Talk will cover following:
- Addressing the issue of "My system is not responding !!"
- Investigative methods that can be used when the system is unavailable.
- SysRq and Vmcore
- Identifying and analysing following issues: Panics Lockups Out of Memory hung_task Resource utilization Hardware issues or underlying hypervisor issues.
