In this talk Holger will briefly explain the concept and reasons fors reproducible builds and how Debian finally has started to make them mandatory for the upcoming release of the distribution scheduled in 2027. A big part in this is reproduce.debian.net which attempts to bit-for-bit identically rebuild each Debian binary package found in the distribution archive, using the .buildinfo file produced when the buildd originally built the package.

The talk is aimed at Debian users and people who don't use Debian but are curious how Debian has implemented this.
