Stop Disabling SELinux: Guide to SELinux Contexts and Labels
Feedback
Many tutorials on the internet end with the same terrible advice: "If it doesn't work, just disable SELinux." When your perfectly configured Apache server throws a 403 Forbidden despite having the correct file permissions, the temptation to type setenforce 0 is strong.
This talk is about why you should resist the urge to disable SELinux, and how to actually fix the underlying issues without losing your mind.
The first half will focus on the essential theory, and the second half will dive into three practical, real-life examples using Apache.
