Janus Troelsen

Janus is a comp.sci student born in 1991. As a programmer, he is a fan of static typing and "new" programming environments like Lamdu, Pharo (Smalltalk) or Pure Data. To earn a living, he works for Progether as a dev-ops engineer, working primarily with Ansible, Java and AWS. In the world of dev-ops, Janus wishes for more reproducable builds (like with the Nix package manager), minimization of privileges (prompting interest in Genode and MirageOS) and reproducablility of application state (evoking and interest in event sourcing/CQRS). Janus lives in Hesse and speaks Esperanto, English, German and Danish.

The first part of this workshop will explain the idea behind hushfile. The initial (and current) implementation will be covered, including the rationale for some of the choices I made. The various attempts at adding large file support will be covered, including why they failed.
